VINCI Facilities Guyane wins the maintenance contract for the Saint-Laurent du Maroni hospital

VINCI Facilities Guyane has been awarded a multi‑technical maintenance contract for the new Saint-Laurent du Maroni hospital in French Guiana. The four-year contract is worth €4 million.

VINCI Facilities Guyane

VINCI Facilities Guyane has 40 employees and generated revenue of €5 million in 2019. It operates throughout the country and specialises in multi-technical maintenance of electrical engineering, climate control and fire safety systems.

The business unit is market leader in the hospitals sector, which accounts for 45% of its activity, and has outstanding project references including the hospitals in Cayenne and Kourou and the majority of the region’s private clinics.

The Saint-Laurent du Maroni hospital contract

The Saint-Laurent hospital is a 25,000 sq. metre building that has been in operation for just over a year.
It is located on the border with Suriname, far from the region’s main ports and airports. This relative isolation brings certain challenges, such as energy shortages, supply difficulties and a lack of technically qualified personnel.

In late 2019, VINCI Facilities bid on a call for tender covering multi-technical maintenance of the following works packages: HVAC, power supply, ELV, generator power and plumbing.

The bid from VINCI Facilities Guyane was successful due to the business unit’s recognised expertise in this highly regulated sector and ability to deliver this type of service efficiently and on time.

The contract currently employs five people full time, along with four subcontractor companies, continuing until 2024.

As Business Unit Manager Jeremy Rembert says, “We must provide high‑quality service while adhering to the health and safety standards applying to this type of facility. The satisfaction of hospital staff and patients is our number-one priority.”
