VINCI Facilities Belgium scores points at the Antwerp stadium

The Royal Antwerp Football Club has returned to the first division in Belgium. Alongside the move, its stadium, the “Bosuil“, was upgraded.

After 93 years, the stadium’s Stand 1 was rejuvenated to better serve the teams, fans and sponsors. The construction of the stand was a feat: the new structure was up and running in just 20 weeks.

The ultramodern building has a concrete frame with 4,300 sq. metres of glass facade and a 200-tonne steel roof overhang that provides ample space and light. The 16,600 sq. metre building contains several multi-purpose rooms as well as changing rooms, catering facilities, executive boxes and 5,600 seats.

VINCI Facilities Zwijndrecht won the five-year maintenance contract for the stand’s various utility and heating facilities.

The contract includes an inspection round before matches, and in-depth maintenance to ensure optimum condition of the facilities and undersoil heating. On match days, VINCI Facilities teams are on standby for second-line maintenance work.
