VINCI Facilities awarded contract for German Television
VINCI Facilities Germany can boast a new contract in the field of radio and television. It has secured the contract for the technical building management of the ZDF’s Hauptstadtstudio, Germany’s second largest public TV channel.
This year, for the first time, the call for tenders for the project was launched Europe-wide. The VINCI Facilities bid was successful, against numerous other contenders, based on the criteria of price and concept. A contract, for a period of 3 + 2 years, has now been signed, and will come into force on 01.01.2023. Among other things, it calls for four employees to be permanently assigned to the project, supplemented and supported by the BU’s service pool.
The complex of buildings in Zollernhof was built by Cegelec, acting as technical general contractor, and completed by 2003. Since then, it has been operated by Cegelec/VINCI.
New Radio & Television competence centre
The contract for the ZDF-Hauptstadtstudio is not the first to have been won this year by the Facility Service Division. Notable projects, such as the NDR Fernsehhaus (television studios) in Hamburg, the RBB sites in Berlin, Potsdam, Cottbus and Frankfurt/Oder and the ARD-Hauptstadtstudio in Berlin, have already resulted in the building up of a wide range of experience of working in such sensitive and high-value buildings. In order to raise its profile in the outside world in this respect, a Radio & Television competence centre was created within the division on 09. September 2022. To be known from now on as Public Special Projects (PSP), it is headed by Martin Specka, working in the BU in Berlin.
