New success for VINCI Facilities PATRIMM'

The CARPE DIEM tower, designed by American architect Robert A.M Stern, was built in 2012. With 47,000 m² spanning 38 floors, this 162-metre tower is one of the first towers to receive two environmental certifications (HQE and Leed Gold). As part of the project, green areas were created inside the tower, including a winter garden and a hanging garden on the top floor.

In 2012, VINCI Facilities bid on the first call for tender but was not successful, even though its client Thales was renting one third of the tower. Amazon Web Services, Invivo, AstraZeneca, DXC Technology and Verallia occupied the other floors of the Carpe Diem tower. This is when the Group started carefully nuturing its relationship with the owner Aviva.

Since June 2019, there has been extensive networking to enable all project stakeholders, including the owner, to get to know one another better. The initiatives spearheaded by the sales department as well as the synergy between business development and operations have come to fruition. VINCI Facilities PATRIMM’ won the call for tender, which meant it signed its first contract with its target Aviva. VINCI Facilities ITEMS teams have also been consulted regarding fire safety systems and low voltage.

This is the second La Défense tower to be added to the VINCI Facilities PATRIMM’ portfolio, which already included the D2 tower. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Yvan Bellamy’s team is providing client support in a bid to oversee the development of the tower. Quite the challenge for project manager Thomas Eckert, who has just joined the company. Well done to the teams for this phenomenal success which is a testimony to the internal synergies at VINCI Facilities.
