IONITY contract: focus on the partnership signed by VINCI Facilities and OMEXOM

Since August 2020, France’s largest network of electric vehicle charging points has been operated by a joint venture between VINCI Autoroutes and VINCI Energies: Easy Charge.

The aim of Easy Charge is to manage not only the design and construction, but also the operation and maintenance of the network, drawing on the combined expertise of all the group’s business units. OMEXOM is handling maintenance of the IONITY charging points on behalf of VINCI Energies.

In 2021, OMEXOM called on VINCI Facilities business units for help with the on-call service for some sites.

There was a need to consolidate the regional cover with locally based business units able to intervene rapidly and effectively on this type of installation. Eleven VINCI Facilities business units responded (on a fee-for-service basis). This cross-brand network is essential to ensure quality of service throughout the day.

Standard operating procedure in the event of an accident:

  1. An accident occurs at the station, potentially placing users at risk
  2. IONITY calls the VINCI Autoroutes PCEI to request an urgent callout
  3. VINCI Autoroutes PCEI calls the closest local branch (from the list supplied)
  4. Local business unit (OMEXOM or VINCI FACILITIES) attends within two hours to make the station safe

In this rapidly expanding market, this OMEXOM-VINCI Facilities partnership will add considerable weight to the Easy Charge offering and its market-leading position!
