FM Logistic awards a contract to VINCI Facilities Lorraine

FM Logistic, a major international provider of transport logistics and co-packing solutions, has awarded a contract to VINCI Facilities Lorraine covering multi-technical maintenance and operation of its 42,000 sq. metre hub in Ludres in northeastern France where some 10 million packages are prepared and some 300,000 pallets are shipped every year for its customer CORA, the hypermarket group.

VF Alsace Sales and Marketing manager Christophe Marchal discusses the contract award.

Could you tell us about the background to the call for tender?

FM Logistic issued a call for tender in November 2019 covering maintenance and operation of its logistics hub in eastern France, with a contract start date in January 2020. We bid on it with competition from SPIE, ENGIE and DALKIA.
The customer had been operating with an in-house team of three technicians et and about 12 subcontractors and wanted to try comprehensively outsourcing these services.

What tipped the balance in your favour?

We won the call for tender because we were able to bid on it within the very tight deadline and reassure the customer that we would be able to meet the stipulated contract start date of 1 January.

What are the services offered?

The multi-technical maintenance and operation contract covers the following services:

♦ Power supply an ELV equipment;
♦ HVAC systems;
♦ Services (3D, green spaces);
♦ Building shell;
♦ Roads;
♦ Fire detection equipment;
♦ Fire protection (sprinkler) system, for which maintenance is entrusted to UXELLO

What are the special features of the contract?

We hired the customer’s Maintenance Manager, who now reports to the VF Lorraine agency in Metz, as Contract Manager. He now manages several sites, including Ludres, for our customer FM Logistic.

The three-year contract started on 1 January 2020 and has an annual value of €200,000.
