An EEC* Project for American Giant Mondelez: a success signed VINCI Energies

The teams from VINCI Facilities FM Aquitaine and Actemium Bordeaux Process have submitted an EEC Project to Mondelez Group, world leader in F&B snacks. Eddy Sovic, in charge of Business Development and Emmanuel Nunes, Business Unit Manager, tell us more…

Background

With respect to its specific industrial process systems, Mondelez needs production units capable of producing both heat and cold (ex.: for processing raw materials). To replace units nearing the end of their useful life, the teams at VINCI Facilities FM Aquitaine and Actemium Bordeaux Process are proposing a first-time offer to modernize production facilities using a systems-based audit.

A Project Financed by an “environmental obligor”

“After having researched the types of unavoidable energy that can potentially be used as technical solutions for EECs, we structured the financing of such EECs for Total, an ‘environmental obligor. As Total is known as a polluter, it has to justify a minimum number of energy saving actions to the French government. The structuring we proposed, therefore, offers our client a technical and economical solution that upgrades their heating/cooling systems while installing a network that recuperates unavoidable heat and yields immediate energy savings” explains Eddy Sovic, in charge of Business Development.

Totally VINCI (Energies)

“‘True success is shared success!’ We are proud to have carried out a 100% VINCI Energies project, proving our specific know-how. Our network of experts allows us to apply a method based on operational excellence that’s perfectly adapted to our industrial clients’ needs” Eddy Sovic continues.

From EEC to EPC

“We now pursue this approach with an EPC (Energy Performance Contract). This new lever allows us to go the distance. Our structured financing resembles those designed to upgrade production units.

The EEC is a new contract model where our business units integrate even more responsibilities. This is a new and innovative business approach: the client wins with assets that are upgraded and reliable. We win by executing the projects, and since we guarantee energy savings, regulatory agencies win too.

These new energy-efficient approaches perfectly demonstrate our specific expertise and are more examples of our determination to develop a long-term partnership with our client Mondelez”, concludes Emmanuel Nunes, Business Unit Manager.
