VINCI Facilities wins the contract to operate the Hekla tower
France: The Hekla tower is a 76,000 sq. meters skyscraper located in the rapidly changing La Défense business district near Paris. Designed by the firm Ateliers Jean Nouvel, the architecture of the tower was inspired by the triangular plot of land on which it was built, with multiple temperature-regulating sunbreakers forming trapezoidal shapes on the façades.
Work began in June 2018 and the tower was delivered in July 2022. BNPP, a valued partner of VINCI Facilities, has been entrusted with managing the tower. The VINCI Group has been involved in the project since day one, with VINCI Construction responsible for the structural work and a consortium of Building Solutions business units (Cegelec Tertiaire IDF Grands Projets, SAGA Tertiaire, SDEL IMTEC, Phibor Opale et Uxello Tertiaire Île-de-France) entrusted with the technical work.
The synergy achieved by Group entities and the workers’ involvement in identifying technical challenges prior to the consultation are what enabled VINCI Facilities PRISME to win the contract to operate the Hekla tower for a five-year period.
By the end of 2022, up to 5,800 employees will be sharing this 48-floor building, with unparalleled views and innovative workspaces designed with collaboration and well-being in mind. The Hekla tower has been awarded the WiredScore Platinum label and won the 2019 “Pierres d’Or” best real estate programme award.
