VIVATECH 2019: Focus on the demonstrator BOS from Building Solutions
The VIVATECH 2019 show took place on the 16, 17 and 18 May 2019 in Paris. At this event, the Building Solutions teams booked a stand to present their new demonstrator BOS.
The demonstrator aims to bring to life the concepts of automation and Smart Building, and to offer an overview of the intelligent building architecture adopted by Building Solutions.
It attracted large numbers of in-house visitors and almost 300 potential customers for VINCI Energies.
The demonstrator BOS was a great success thanks to its fun feel and fluid user experience.
How does it work?
The demonstrator is a physical model of a building (a clinic in this case) printed in 3D from a REVIT file. It allows visitors to interact with the building through a control and lighting installation.
Its main functions:
- Automation of lighting using presence sensing
- Virtual remote control operation
- Simulation of a CO2 threshold exceeded alarm
- Geolocation of maintenance requests using QR codes
Any physical change is stored in the BOS (Building Operating System) and duplicated in real time on the digital twin displayed on the screen.
You may recall that the BOS is a unique database that allows us to permanently consolidate, store and organise all data produced in the design and use of the building. It forms the intermediate layer between on-site systems and any applications that use the building’s data.
On this model, the BOS is represented by a single BMS and three applications:
- visualisation
- virtual remote control
- ticketing
The idea is to transfer this to a larger-scale building, with thousands of measurement points and dozens of applications that cross-reference the data.
The demonstrator was created in partnership with SDEL IMTEC, who completed the electrical installation and control aspects, and SPINALCOM, who configured the building’s database.
It will be available to all our visitors in the innovation space at La Factory.
