TwinOps, the new digital services solution for buildings

VINCI Facilities, the facility management brand of the VINCI Energies Group, has taken a further step in the digital transformation of the service sector with the launch of TwinOps, which creates a 3D model of the building’s digital twin. The digital twin is connected to the full range of data collected to create an efficient ecosystem that is then used to operate the building and the smart services provided for end users.

The TwinOps solution provides customised support on three levels and includes:

  • Creation and updating of the building’s digital twin;
  • Technical training in building operation provided for property managers, land managers and operators;
  • Provision of a Smart Services portal for end users (geolocation, meeting room booking, etc.), including dynamic control of these services within the building.

This turnkey solution is based on a dedicated platform built and further expanded by VINCI Facilities. The platform meets the needs of customers at every stage of building operation:

  • Building BIM model
  • Building technical data
  • Property asset management
  • Real-time data (BAS, BMS, IoT)
  • Contractual and financial management (ERP)

BIM (Building Information Modeling) and big data serving the smart building

The building generates a wealth of data. One of the main functions of the Smart Building is to recover data and ensure data interoperability across the various building systems (equipment, sensors, applications). A one-of-a-kind method based on VINCI Facilities’ technical expertise is used to structure the data, which is then fed into a building-specific BIM model. The building’s data can thereby be extracted, uniformly interpreted and shared with the full range of systems via a BOS (Building Operating System). The major benefit of this solution is to derive a maximum amount of added value from all information produced by the building.

The connected BIM model, available on the platform, becomes a shared, evolving avatar. With this model, the data collected can be exploited to improve the building’s technical, environmental and service performance.

“TwinOps puts into practice the Group’s commitment to ensure comprehensive, more sustainable building performance. The solution, the result of research and development work, amounts to a smart data aggregator,” says Philippe Conus, Director of the VINCI Facilities brand.

3D modelling, connected objects and smart equipment are stepping up the pace of digital transformation in buildings. “This new digital services solution is a tool that can be used for information gathering, coordination and decision support. TwinOps is technology serving value creation in building operation,” says VINCI Facilities TwinOps Manager Mathieu Rigaud.
