The Wave platform demonstrated in Las Vegas at the world’s largest new technology event

Wave”,  the new Smart Building Energies web platform, has come a long way! Following its introduction at the VINCI Energies head office in the Hauts de France region, the dedicated smart building platform was exhibited at the world’s largest digital event, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The most recent CES event, which took place from 7 to 10 January 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada, brought together 1,200 carefully selected startups in an exhibition space with a floor area of over a 2.5 million sq. metres.

Frédéric Thouot, Smart Building Energies Business Unit Manager, and Céline Guillaume, Energy Manager and Wave Ambassador, discuss the experience.

How were you selected to take part in the international trade fair?

The Hauts de France region and EuraTechnologies offered several local startups an opportunity to join the FrenchTech delegation at CES 2020. We saw this as a welcome opportunity to showcase the Wave platform outside France and to forge new commercial contacts.

We were very proud to have been selected, given the stringent selection criteria, with only one startup in five selected.

What is your takeaway from the trade fair?

It was a wonderful showcase for our platform. We gave visitors a live demonstration of the Wave applications. We left with about 50 contracts and 5 scheduled customers visits to the WAVE building in Lille. It is all very promising! We hope we will be able to go back next year.

What are the next steps for Wave?

We are now marketing the platform. We have hit the ground running! Since September, we have had more than 300 visits to the WAVE building. Many customers who are building or seeking to refurbish their premises see it as a good way to modernise their assets. We hope and expect that the order book will fill up rapidly.

Meanwhile, Céline is continuing to work on building energy management, promote the tool during customer visits, and work closely with the other startups incubated by Euratechnologies as part of partnerships.
