COZY AIR: what air are you breathing?

The Building Solutions team is testing several IoT solutions at La Factory. The aim is to evaluate their ease of installation and reliability in returning and analysing data. Focus on the latest use case with the “COZY AIR” solution.

What is COZY AIR?

COZY AIR is a startup expert in analysing indoor air quality. It offers a solution based on a bespoke detector, with an integrated sensor allowing the measurement of several pollutants in an enclosed space:

  • CO2
  • carbon monoxide
  • volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
  • nitrogen dioxide
  • fine particles resulting from poor maintenance

The startup has been selected to join CSTB’Lab, the incubator run by the Scientific and Technical Center for Building (CSTB).

How is it installed?

COZY AIR is easy to install, with the manufacturer completing all configuration prior to shipping. A simple mains connection is all it takes to make the sensor operational.

An intuitive dashboard then enables you to view and monitor air quality in real time, as well as to review historical data. Forecasting and consulting services are also available.

How much does it cost and how interoperable is it?

The detector costs €599 ex. VAT and the 4-year subscription is €320 ex. VAT per detector (general retail price, non-negotiated).

The dashboards are supplied white label and APIs (interfaces) exist if we wish to retain ownership of the data.

The COZY AIR dashboard is integrated into the Smart Building Energies WAVE platform.

What are the results from La Factory?

We were able to ascertain the solution’s reliability by comparing the CO2 curves produced with the use of the spaces (occupation duration, number of people in meeting rooms, doors opening, etc.)

COZY AIR is therefore a reliable, easy-to-install sensor. Its slightly high price makes it more suitable for one-off measurement campaigns and for monitoring sensitive locations.
