The Polytechnique school goes green thanks to Cegelec La Rochelle

Cegelec La Rochelle and Total Solar are going “Green” at a height of 22 metres by installing 580 photovoltaic solar panels with a 1,200 sq. metres surface area, 189 kWp capacity and 100 kW storage capacity on the roof of one of a high-profile school.

In this configuration and with this amount of storage capacity in a building, the project is a first for TOTAL in France.

The photovoltaic solar facility will be coupled with a set of storage batteries and connected to a very sophisticated met station. The main challenge will be transporting the roof panels, which are set to be installed by the summer. The project accounts for €154,000 in revenue for Cegelec La Rochelle (excluding solar panels).
