Bosman Bedrijven awarded by EDGE Technologies (OVG) for EDGE Stadium Amsterdam Project.

EDGE Stadium is being realized near the Olympic stadium on the Amsterdam Zuidas. The Forum office building will be transformed by EDGE Technologies and Allianz Real Estate into high-quality, innovative and healthy office space. After EDGE Olympic, EDGE Amsterdam West and EDGE Eindhoven, this is the fourth EDGE building for which Bosman Bedrijven is realizing the technical installations. 

Smart connectivity 

With the redevelopment of the Forum office building, 10,000 square meters will be added to the existing 19,000 square meters of office space. EDGE Stadium will be one of the best performing buildings in the Netherlands in terms of well-being, innovation and sustainability.  The building will receive BREEAM Excellent and WELL Core & Shell Gold certification and is expected to consume 70% less energy. In addition, this building should become the first R2S (Ready2Services)-certified building with two stars in the Netherlands. This certification assesses the ‘smart connectivity’ of buildings. The project will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2022. 

EDGE Next platform 

EDGE wants to obtain the certificate by applying smart technology, including EDGE’s own platform EDGE Next. With this platform, building performance in the areas of sustainability, health and efficiency are greatly improved. EDGE Next uses multiple sensors and data sources that not only collect information, but also provide action-oriented insights so that buildings, businesses and people perform optimally. Tenants can download a building app that allows them to easily set up their working environment, such as lighting and temperature. 

New features for the ideal workplace 

The award-winning Forum building was built 20 years ago and still meets many contemporary requirements. Therefore, many elements of the existing building are being reused and upcycled. The redeveloped 29,000 m2 office building offers the latest in smart technology and meets the highest sustainability standards. 

State-of-the-art workplace 

The existing atrium will be extended using a wooden, hybrid roof construction, creating space for the EDGE Workspace concept on the first floor. This will create open spaces and a roof terrace with many natural elements based on biophilic design. Tenants and users are stimulated to meet, connect and move through the building across the large floorboards and inviting staircases. EDGE Next monitors and optimizes the indoor climate and energy performance of the building. In this way, EDGE Stadium becomes an ultramodern workplace where health and sustainability are paramount. 

The works will start in Q4 2020 and will end in Q4 2022.
