Refurbishment of two towers in Abidjan's administrative complex

Two freshly refurbished towers rise in the heart of the business district in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire: the A and B towers of the administrative complex.

The twin structures, classified as high-rises, each 70 metres and 18 storeys high, accommodate about 1,200 civil servants. Built 40 years ago, they were in a state of disrepair and required comprehensive refurbishment.

The client, general contractor PFO Africa entrusted the project to the Cegelec Maroc and Côte d’Ivoire teams. Work on the €8.4m project got under way in August 2018 and was completed in August 2019.

The teams were in charge of installing the full range of climate control, plumbing and smoke ventilation systems to upgrade more than 38,000 sq. metres of office space.

In addition, VINCI Energies Côte d’Ivoire set up a BMS (Building Management System) that makes it possible to remotely control the building’s technical systems – alarms, meters, controls, parameter settings (temperature, hours of operation, etc.).

Under the oversight of Project Manager Mr Christian Dibi, and thanks to synergies between the Cegelec Maroc and Cegelec Côte d’Ivoire teams, the project was carried out on schedule with no workplace accidents, safety being the number one priority on all our worksites.
