Infinity A prestigious project championed by a Complete MEP/Complete Construction Consortium

In August 2017, VINCI Energies Belgium was the successful bidder for a major contract in Luxembourg known as INFINITY: a real estate complex made up of a 25-story residential building, an office building boasting 6 800 m², and connecting the two, a two-story commercial center providing 6 500 m² of shopping space.

The underground, private parking facility spans 8 000m².

This complex will be located on the Kirchberg Plateau and its developer, IMMOBEL Luxembourg, has already secured tenants for almost all of the available space.

VINCI Energies Belgium is in charge of the complete MEP (Medium Low Voltage, Extra Low Voltage, , plumbing, HVAC, smoke extraction, Fire protection) with the support of the following VINCI Facilities Business Units: Cegelec Elec South, Cegelec Commercial South, Cegelec HVAC Public South and Cegelec Fire Solutions. The project’s total price tag comes to around €15M.

Cegelec Belgium has partnered with BAM-Galère Construction Company for this joint venture.

What made this bid stand out was how quickly Cegelec Belgium and BAM-Galère created their consortium (a temporary entity or “SEP”). Indeed, the bouwteam-type partnership allowed Cegelec to get in on the ground floor and study the project’s particularities starting at inception (the partnership was formed as early as June 2017).

This privileged relationship enabled the establishments of important protocols that define how lots would be attributed, how interfaces would be handled and how work sequences and construction site costs would be optimized. Cegelec Belgium and BAM-Galère were then able to concentrate fully on the project’s technical specs without worrying about the contractual aspects.

The Joint Venture convinced IMMOBEL of the pertinence of working with a fully-operational consortium of close-knit, experienced companies.

At the end of a period of arm’s length negotiations, IMMOBEL decided that CEGELEC and BAM-Galère were the best choice for INFINITY… and beyond.
