Galeries Lafayette has its tastebuds renewed by GTIE Tertiaire and Valentin
Teams from GTIE Tertiaire and Valentin are involved in renovating Galeries Lafayette Gourmet in Paris, covering more than 1,500 sq. metres.
GTIE Tertiaire completed the high-voltage power supply batch for the new spaces being created to accommodate eight restaurants, including Michelin-starred establishments. The high complexity lay in the installation of new electrical supplies without disrupting operations on the rest of the site, which remained occupied.
Valentin is responsible for the HVACE (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and extraction) and plumbing batch. One unusual aspect of this batch was the installation of an AHU (air handling unit) weighing a tonne in the restaurant ceiling, rather than in a machine room or on the roof as in most projects.
These operations in an occupied environment need careful management by our teams to avoid disturbing the occupants with dust and noise pollution. This required them to work at night and to staggered schedules.
The project will be completed in June, ready for GTIE Tertiaire to begin works for the future restaurants, with handover scheduled for September.
Works duration: February – September 2022
Contract value: €1.2 million
