Club Med Palmyre Atlantique moves upmarket thanks to Cegelec La Rochelle
The job at the Club Med village in La Palmyre, in a nutshell, is a full revamp plus extension work. The project involves renovating its 379 existing rooms and building 27 new deluxe ones, a new swimming pool in a quiet area, and refurbishing the restaurants, bar, theatre, spa and playgrounds in this 22-hectare resort.
The goal is to reopen at the end of next May, and that’s the challenge that site managers Stéphane Moreau, Kévin Ducher (engineer), David Aubry and Jean-François Tardet are tackling alongside the 21 other people working full-time on site. It is a large-scale project, will take a lot of energy, and Cegelec La Rochelle was awarded the contract recently – this June – in a consortium alongside GTM and Citeos. It was the tight teamwork with the teams from VINCI Construction that won the La-Rochelle-based company this attractive project worth €2.5 million.
This sizeable challenge encompasses renovating all the high-voltage and low-voltage circuits at the site, and developing the decorative lighting throughout the park. “The biggest difficulty is delivering this 28,000-hour project in record time,” adds Stéphane Moreau.
This project mirrors the strength of the synergies within the group and is one of Cegelec La Rochelle’s main references in 2020.
